PRIVACY POLICY

Introduction

Concord Technologies Inc. is at the forefront of the data privacy revolution that will be driven by finally given people ownership and control of their data. Our service and product for people, called “Concord”, is a person-centric data application that gives you the ability to own and manage your online behavioral and personal data. That data is typically collected without your knowledge in order to target and better engage with you via advertising and content. We believe that if people can actually understand what is being collected about them, while also providing control over the use of that data, that it will be a net positive for all of us, including advertisers, brands, and the different sites and applications you use on a daily basis.

Concord.tech is also a public website in which we present to people the goals of our brand and the benefits of using our products and services. Because we are driven by the desire to drive change in the right way, we do not want to be just another property where people feel like they are obligated to accept unknown terms of use when they are presented with cookie usage and privacy policy popups typically used to comply with regulations such as GDPR.

With that spirit in mind, we present our one of a kind User Oriented Privacy Policy.

Our User Oriented Privacy Policy: The Overview

Concord Technologies Inc. values the importance of protecting your privacy and personal data above all else. We also respect your revocable right to accept or decline collection, usage or processing of your data. Your visit to our site, and more specifically this privacy policy page, would normally require you to have already navigated a portion of our site and accepted our privacy policy. As we believe that our website policy must have that same level of respect for consent as our Concord product, we are foregoing the usage of data collection cookies on our public pages.

We do so because we truly believe in the type of built-in-trust and transparency that our product provides, and we believe that should always be the first step. If you haven't yet signed up for our Service, we assume you aren’t yet sure if Concord is right for you and believe that it’s reasonable to assume you don’t want to be cookied and potentially identified without your knowledge. Here is how it works in practice:

  1. Each time you come to our site as an anonymous user, we’ll treat you like a new prospective user of Concord and we’ll try to help instill trust in our brand and services.
  2. Once you do sign up for Concord and accept the relevant terms of service, you will gain access to the website and application content within the authenticated Concord experience (called the "Service" throughout the rest of this privacy policy).
  3. After we know you are a Concord user, we will enable certain cookies to make the Service easier to use, like cookies that keep you logged in, while always providing full control to you. For additional information regarding the terms in relation to your usage of the Concord application, you can refer to our application Terms of Service, which can be found here: Terms of Service

Our User Oriented Privacy Policy: The Specifics

1. Data Processing

In order to provide you the best possible experience on our website, Concord.tech collects a minimal amount of usage data by unauthenticated users, but we do it with privacy in mind via the following methods:

  • When you visit our site, we will store: the website from which you visited us from, the parts of our site you visit, the date and duration of your visit, your anonymized IP address, information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country you are located in, and web browser type) you used during your visit, and some other basic analytics data. We process this usage data in Matomo Analytics, a privacy focused open source analytics tool, for statistical purposes, to improve our site and to recognize and stop any misuse. Our instance of Matomo is also self-hosted so as to avoid unwanted data sharing that can happen with tools like Google Analytics.
  • For further privacy protection, our implementation of Matomo also takes advantage of the following optional privacy features: IP anonymization (we do not allow Matomo to capture the full IP address), disablement of tracking cookies, respect for Do Not Track settings, and no known user id tracking (many companies attempt to track you with a known user id without your knowledge).
  • There will be no personalization of our website or ads presented (except for the purpose of demonstrating our product features).

2. Cookies

As mentioned above, we are not setting browser cookies for data collection for unauthenticated users visiting our website. Our content management system, webflow, may set a basic anonymous session cookie that helps avoid form submission abuse. In addition, you can always deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings of your web browser and cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.

3. Personal Data Use

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. Concord.tech public web pages do not capture or track any of your personal data except for the following:

  • Email Address: This is only captured if you proactively sign up to be on one of our mailing lists.

4. Data Recipients

Data is often shared with third-party data recipients, either through the use of third-party technology or for monetization purposes. We do not share your information with other data recipients outside of the following scenarios:

  • E-mail Subscriptions: As noted above, we currently capture e-mail addresses for e-mail subscriptions for people that choose to subscribe. We currently handle those subscriptions and provide end-user subscription management, including anytime opt-out control, via a 3rd Party (MailChimp).
  • Observance of Laws: We may disclose your personal information if required by law, regulation, or other legal subpoena or warrant. We may also disclose your personal information to a regulatory or law enforcement agency if we believe it to be necessary to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Concord Technologies or its customers.

5. Email Communications

If you have given us your email it’s because you signed up for our mailing list. We send only emails relevant to the progress of our Service and limit the number we send. You may always revoke your consent to being contacted by email for promotional purposes any time, by clicking on an unsubscribe link or replying directly to Concord stating your wish to unsubscribe. Any use of email click tracking is to determine if emails are functional (i.e. links work) and aggregate counts of email clicks.

We will not make use of email tracking technology to obtain data on you or your behavior.

6. Data Protection

Where data is stored within our systems, such data is stored in secure environments. While we use all reasonable efforts to protect your information, we cannot absolutely guarantee the security of your data submitted through our websites.
